about

s t a t e m e n t

I use found hardware, cast-off lumber, metal, animal remnants, plant fibers and color and wax to emotionally process the media I consume and to tell stories. I find that these items possess dual intrinsic properties that speak to abandonment and discovery, incongruency and clear purpose, loneliness and membership, and concealment and protection.  These materials plus the process of amalgamation help me reach a depth into concepts of transformation, time, memory, purpose, place and my own mortality.  The results come together in mixed-media, site-specific installations, wearables and assemblages.
